Andrea is taking the classic, meal-centric (app/main/dessert) cooking class to a new level by focusing on a specific nutritional component. You’ll learn how to make crispy salmon skin AND why eating the skin increases your Omega-3 intake, as well as minerals like niacin and phosphorus. 

You’ll leave class with a head full of knowledge and a belly full of delicious, Instagram-worthy food. Andrea tosses food dogma and labels (keto/paleo) in the bin and focuses on the simplicity and joy of making meals from real whole food. Come and cook up some fun and healthy fare!

OMG, Omega 3!!

The benefits of boosting our diets with Omega-3s are endless, from reducing inflammation and risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as combatting baffling symptoms from autoimmune disorders. Supplements are a great way to up Omega-3 intake, but for maximum absorption, eating foods rich in the nutrient is the most effective – and delicious – way to go. In this class, we will talk about which food sources - both animal and vegetable - have the highest amounts of Omega-3. We’ll put that knowledge into practice with tasty ways to eat them every day!

Your body needs calcium to build and maintain strong bones. And your heart, muscles and nerves rely on the mineral to function properly. And despite what we’ve been told, milk isn’t the only way to do your body good. Learn the dairy-free way to a calcium-rich diet!

Hair, Skin & Nails

We’ve all heard that the beta carotene in carrots is good for our eyesight. But did you know that beta carotene is the building block for Vitamin A (a.k.a. Retinol)? Instead of spending loads on fancy creams, we can eat our way to beautiful skin. And up our intake of foods rich in hyaluronic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, vitamin C and E, and other polyphenols and antioxidants. It’s the all natural, all yummy way to healthy hair, skin and nails!

Yes, despite what the ‘90s told us, fat can be your friend! In fact, there are many benefits of eating the right fats, including lowering the risk of heart disease, improving blood cholesterol levels, regulating blood sugar and reducing inflammation.

Plant-Based Novice

Let’s kick Meatless Monday up a notch! Together, we’ll make a plant-based rich and creamy mozzarella from scratch. Then we’ll season, bread and oven fry our eggplant slices to perfection, topping them with a homemade beautiful marinara sauce that grandma would be proud of. All the components of a hearty, traditional Italian meal, made with love and completely from plants! We will also talk about the benefits of a plant-based diet and how taking a break from meat just one day a week benefits our bodies and the environment.
